back from Buea

We just got back in town today from our trip to Buea and environs, in the southwest of Cameroon. We went to find out more about CHAMEG (a RELUFA member NGO run by our Cameroonian friend Meg), to meet clients of the micro-credit program there, and to see the race up Mount Cameroon. We had a fine time visiting with people and learning about their work and lives, spent lots of time sitting in buses, and are happy to be back in Yaounde since we're out of clean laundry. The southwest is English-speaking and feels very different from where we live, and we liked it a lot. We'll put up some pictures and stories soon.

A right - isn't the run up the mountain what we saw in the movie we saw at your place just before you took off (with that eloquent presenter)? That was impressive - running up a mountain that tall!! Looking forward to seeing the pics!

Is the movie you're talking about, Volcanic Sprint? www.volcanicsprint.com. It's a newly released documentary about the Mt. Cameroon race (and it's fantastic, by the way).
